What is the MCAT in Pakistan?

In Pakistan, the MCAT (Medical College Admission Test) is now officially called the MDCAT (Medical and Dental College Admission Test). It is a standardized test conducted every year for students seeking admission to MBBS and BDS programs.

How is the MDCAT score calculated?

The MDCAT score is calculated based on the number of correct answers. Each correct answer is awarded 1 mark, while there is no negative marking. The total marks are 200, and the score is converted into a percentage for merit lists.

What subjects are included in the MDCAT?

The test covers the following subjects:
Biology (68 questions)
Chemistry (56 questions)
Physics (56 questions)
English (20 questions)
Logical Reasoning (10 questions)

How can I use an MDCAT Score Calculator?

An MDCAT Score Calculator helps students quickly calculate their total marks by entering the number of correct answers in each subject. It then shows the total score and percentage, which can be compared with previous years’ merit lists.

What is the passing criteria for MDCAT in Pakistan?

According to the Pakistan Medical & Dental Council (PMDC), the passing criteria are:
MBBS: 60%
BDS: 55%

Does the MDCAT score alone decide admission?

No. Admission is based on the aggregate score, which includes:
MDCAT Score (50%)
Intermediate/F.Sc (40%)
Matric/O-Levels (10%)
Some universities may have slight variations in their merit formula.
