4.0What is a GRE Score Calculator?
A GRE Score Calculator is a tool that estimates your GRE scaled score (130–170 per section) based on your raw performance in Verbal Reasoning and Quantitative Reasoning practice tests.
Is the GRE Score Calculator recognized by HEC Pakistan?
No, HEC (Higher Education Commission of Pakistan) does not officially recognize any online calculators. It only accepts official GRE General Test scores reported by ETS. Calculators are just for practice and estimation.
How are GRE scores calculated?
GRE scores are reported on a scaled range of 130–170 for Verbal and Quant, and 0–6 for Analytical Writing. Raw scores (number of correct answers) are converted to scaled scores using ETS’ scaling method, which is not publicly disclosed. Calculators only approximate this.
What is considered a good GRE score for Pakistani students applying abroad?
For USA Top Universities: 315+ (Verbal 155+, Quant 160+)
For HEC scholarships: usually 300+
For Middle-Tier Universities: 295–310 is acceptable
Does the GRE Score Calculator also include Analytical Writing (AWA)?
Most calculators only cover Verbal and Quant. For AWA, Pakistani students need to rely on official ETS scoring guidelines or professional graders.
Why is the GRE important for Pakistani students?
Many international scholarships (e.g., HEC Overseas Scholarships, Fulbright) and admissions to top universities in the USA, Canada, and Europe require GRE scores.
